History

This organic eau-de-vie is made with Damson plums of exceptional quality, from Alsace or Lorraine. The stems and seeds of our organic plums are carefully removed. The plump, fleshy fruit releases a unique aromatic complexity during distillation.

    Production

After fermenting the fruit in vats comes a smooth distillation before aging in barrels followed by diluting it with the water from Uberach.

    Tasting

Rediscover the aromas of plums via this brandy, slightly amber-colored from aging in oak casks. The eau-de-vie reveals all the tastes of stone fruit, round and delicate. The final aging augments the taste with delicate woodsy and vanilla scents.

    Serving

The Bertrand Organic Vieille Prune brandy should be served very cold. You can turn the glass, bumping the ice cubes against the crystal until it’s misty. After removing the ice and pouring the eau-de-vie the fruit’s perfumes waft delicately upwards, increasingly mellow. The brandy can also be tasted at room temperature, the glass warmed in the palms of the hands.
