Uberach

IGP Whisky d’Alsace Powerful and aromatic

Uberach, the village “beyond the water” inspired the Distillerie Bertrand in 2003 in the making of its first whisky.

The malt preparation from local mash is the fruit of the exacting, valuable work required at each step of the creation, right up to the bottling.

The Uberach Whisky d’Alsace are aged in barrels that are meticulously chosen by Jean Metzger from among the best-known cellars in Banyuls. These barrels will have spent many years aging the sweet wine from the area before arriving in Uberach. Their unique history finds its subtle expression in this line of whiskies.

Character

An emblematic trailblazer, the signature product of the creator-composer, it reflects the timeless style of the Distillerie Bertrand.

Production

This IGP Whisky d’Alsace (Protected Geographical Indication), made of malted barley and the highest-quality water, is made in Holstein column stills dating from 1985. Non-chill filtered, the whisky is then aged in new barrels and again a second or third time in barrels from Banyuls.

Secret

These single malt and single cask whiskies were the first to obtain the IGP Whisky d’Alsace (Protected Geographical Indication) at its creation in 2015.
