History

A quintessential expression of the Alsatian terroir, full of delicacy and finesse.

This whisky pays homage to the patron saint of Uberach who has been watching over the distillery for over a century.

Le Principal was created with the idea of sharing the Alsatian identity, its ancestral know-how and a precise vision of whisky.

Made from water from the Vosges du Nord and barley from Alsace, it is aged in new oak barrels of French origin to safeguard the purest aromas of Alsatian whisky. The name “principal” is a technical word in French used to describe the parts of barley.

    Production

The double-pass method of distilling is first done with all the rectifying plates and the second pass with only certain disengaged plates.

Made from organic barley mash, this Alsatian whisky is aged 5 years in new 300-liter barrels from Billon in Beaune (located in the Burgundy region, one of the best cooperages in France) to reach an alcohol level of 46° after reduction with non-chill filtering.
