A Scottish prince who became a monk. A long journey across Alsace. A legend that says he could make spring water flow forth at the touch of his shepherd's crook. These all make up the unique, historic legacy that, allied with an Alsatian water of exceptional purity, inspired the Distillerie Bertrand to create this original product reminiscent of its origins.

With the St Wendelin®, the distillery promises a return to its roots in Uberach and pays homage to the village’s patron saint.

Harmonious, balanced aging in the tradition of the Uberach know-how for whiskies produced this new interpretation of Alsace. Thanks to the terroir with its geological characteristics and rich mineral content, the Distillerie Bertrand gives a distinct personality to each whisky in this range. A precise aging period in precious barrels makes these St Wendelin® whiskies exceptional products.

Character

A new interpretation full of finesse and purity, it conveys the essential nature of the Alsatian terroir.

Production

This IGP Whisky d’Alsace (Protected Geographical Indication), non-chill filtered, is aged slowly in very large barrels of precious or plain wood or refilled barrels. They are distinguished by their grain and regular toasting.

Secret

This whisky is bottled only once a year, on the saint’s day of Saint Wendelin.

In Uberach, the village “beyond the water,”

Throughout the years, many a generation of distillers

Have passed their time patiently, allowing Nature to take her course,

Ripening the fruit, malting the barley,
